About Charles
Major Charles Emerson Winchester III was a Boston born blueblood who was working as a surgeon at Tokyo General Hospital at the beginning of the Korean War. After winning a game of cribbage against his commander Charles was sent to the 4077th M*A*S*H unit. Although he was pompous and egotistical, there was also a kind sensitive man underneath the arrogance.
